Edith Julia Pratley was born in about 1867 at Leafield in Oxfordshire. She was the daughter of Charles Pratley and his wife Jane, born Jane Eaton. ^[1]

Her mother died early in 1871.

At the time of the 1871 census, Edith Pratley was living in Lower End in Leafield with her widowed father Charles and her grandfather Thomas Eaton. Her age was given as 4, implying a birth date in 1866 or 1867. She was at school. ^[2]

Edith Pratley died later in 1871, at the age of 4. ^[3]
