1850 finds Cordelia, as the family called her, living with her parents in Shiawassee County, Michigan.[2]
In the 1860 Federal Census, Cordelia is living in the household of her mother, Nancy Pratt.[3] Horace does not seem to be any where to be found.
Cordelia moves east to Chautauqua County sometime after the 1860 census but before her marriage to Joshua Albro at Dunkirk in 1869. According to her obituary, she moved east to live with an uncle at the age of 15. This would have made the move around 1862. Her husband, Joshua Albro struggled to make a living after being discharged from the military. He served in the Civil War and apparently suffered long-term disability from his service. His family tried their best to provide a living for him, but he and Cordelia move from New York City to Owosso to live in her mother's house which she left to Cordelia.
The 1880 Federal census find the couple living in New York City with a border and no children.[4] I have said this before, never give up searching for someone in the census if you think they should have been enumerated. In this case, the couple are enumerated as Joshaway and Frances Calbro. Frances also is listed as having a "liver complaint".
1900 Federal Census finds the couple living in Owosso, Michigan.[5]
1905 - Roy Haynes who is a child living with the Albros runs away from home to go live with his brother.[7]
1907 - Frances C Albro receives Civil War pension of twelve dollars per month.[8]
1908 - Shiawassee Probate Court places R Albro Haynes in the household of Frances Albro as her ward. He was listed as an adopted son of Joshua C Albro in his obituary.[9]
A sixty year old Frances C Albre, enumerated as a male is living in Owosso, Michigan in the 1910 Federal Census.[10] I'll leave it to you to decide, is it our Frances or not? A 14 year-old boy by the name of R Albro Haynes is also living in the household.
A widowed Frances C Albro is living in a house which she owns in the 1920 Federal census in the town of Owosso, Michigan[11]
