Edward was born about 1526. He married Dorothy Cobbe about 1556 in Norfolk, England. He passed away about 1597.
Edward Pratt of Hockwold, Norfolk, was the eldest son of Edmund Pratt, also of Hockwold, and Katherine Tassell. Edmund and Katherine also had Gregory, Cicely, Paul, and Beatrice. Edward Pratt married Dorothy Cobb and they had Osbert, Edward and Dorothy.[1]
Edward and his siblings were mentioned in the will of his uncle, William Pratt of Ryston, Norfolk, gentleman, (PCC 16 May 1558). William, the elder brother of Edmund, apparently died unmarried and without heirs. He left the bulk of his estate to his nephew Gregory, in default of heirs to Edward, then to Paul, then to the children of his brothers John and Richard. William also mentioned Beatrice the daughter of Edmund Pratt.[2]
Edward Pratt, of Hockwold, gentleman, is found several times in the records of the court of Common Pleas, for example in 1554, [3] 1571, [4] and 1595.[5]
Edward died in 1597. In that year there is a probate inventory [6] and a will [7] of Edward Pratt, gentleman, of Hockwold.
