Sanders Monroe Presley did not die in Arkansas. He was a Methodist Circuit riding preacher and died in middle Tennessee in 1842 or 1843, probably Jackson county. His wife Elizabeth remarried, had another daughter, her second husband Edward Carlisle died in 1851. In 1857 Sanders' wife Elizabeth moved to Arkansas with some of their grown children (son Brown Presley and wife Nancy, daughter Sarah and husband Wm Winchester, daughter Ruth and husband Terry Walden, son Jay Presley and wife Mary, plus Matilda Carlisle the young daughter from Elizabeth's second marriage) They traveled by wagon and arrived in Madison County, Arkansas, on Nov 7, 1857. Sanders Presley's wife Elizabeth died in 1888 in Old Alabam, Madison country, Arkansas, where she is buried.
