Biography

Dolphin, son of Walter Price and Anne Rogers, was baptised on 3 January 1833 in Llanbedr Painscastle, Radnor, Wales.^[1]

In the 1841 census Delphin (age 8) was in Llanbedr Painscastle, Radnorshire, Wales.^[2]

In the 1851 census Dolphin (age 18) was the servant of Hannah Davies in Radnorshire, Wales.^[3]

Dolphin's marriage to Ann Price was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1858 in the Hay district.^[4]

In the 1861 census Dolphus (age 28) was the head of household in Breconshire, Wales.^[5]

In the 1871 census Dolfin (age 37) was the head of household in Llanbedr Painscastle, Radnorshire, Wales.^[6]

When Dolphin was about 47 he married Eleanor Evans in 1880 in Hay, Breconshire. The couple had one child: Thomas Watson Price.^[7][8]

Research Notes

His name has been variously transcribed and recorded over the censuses. However, Dolphin appears to be a family name and the transcriptions and records are probably due to record keepers confusion.
