George Thomas Purdy was born in 1844 in Caister, Norfolk, England, the son of Elizabeth (McCarthy) Purdy and William Purdy.[citation needed]
Emigrated to Australia aged 10 with mother and siblings on the "Eagle" in 1855.[1]
George died in 1912 in South Fitzroy, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, aged 68 years.[2]
