Biography

Stephen Pyle, son of Caleb Pyle and Mary Matthewson.was born 14 Nov 1767, Delaware County Pennsylvania; and died March of 1847.^[1]

Stephen married (1) 4-5-1792; Lydia Reece, born 9-26-1768, in Willistown; died in Concord, 10-2-1829; daughter of William and Mary Reece.^[1]

Stephen married after 10-2-1829, (2) Rebecca Stokes, of Philadelphia; she died in Camden New Jersey, age 94.^[1]

In 1808, Stephen Pyle of Thornbury, leased from Samuel Lewis of Edgmont, a farm consisting of 140 acres; and in 1813, he purchased 63 acres in Concord Township, Chester Co., Pa. ^[1]
