Maude was born in 1911 in Bosque County, Texas. She was the daughter of William Pyles and Lizzie Greenwade. Maude was the 4th of 9 children. Four of her siblings died as children.[1]
Maude Alma Pyles married Douglas Bryan Smith in Bosque, Texas, on November 16, 1930, when she was 19 years old.[2] They had two daughters - Shirley Dolores, born in 1936, and Kay Laverne, born in 1937.[3]
Maude died at the age of 96 at the home of her daughter in Santa Fe, Texas in 2008.[4]
