William was born about 1620, the son of Robert Quarles and Mary Parvish.[1] He was 22 years old when he received a marriage license with Anne Vernon, a widow, on November 11th, 1642.[1] They were married the following Friday, November 14th at St. James' Church, Clerkenwell in London.[2]
