Biography

Mary Margaret Quesnelle was a woman of French-Canadian heritage who was born on June 12, 1911 in Tiny, Ontario. She was the youngest daughter of Francois-Xavier and Marie Delina Quesnelle, who had a large family of 13 children. She grew up in a rural area surrounded by nature and family. She met her first husband, Thomas Edward Stacey, when she was only 15 years old. They eloped to Penetanguishene, a town on the shores of Georgian Bay, where they got married on October 11, 1926. They had at least children Quesnelle, who was born in 1911. Mary lived a happy and simple life with Thomas until he passed away in 1981. She died later that year at the age of 69. She was buried in the Sainte-Anne Cemetery in Penetanguishene, where she had started her journey as a young bride.
