Biography

John was born in 1827 to John Race and Elizabeth Gillions. He was christened on 22 Apr 1827 in Biggleswade, Bedford^[1]

In 1841 John was living with his father, mother and younger brother Frederick in Stratton St in Biggleswade. His father was a butcher.^[2]

In 1851 during the census John was staying in Saint Marylebone, Middlesex. He was married and working as a Cheese Monger^[3]
