Research Notes

from WWI draft card - occupation and employer: Livestock Commission Merch (?); John Ralston Com Co.

As seems to be common among the children of this family, records do not agree as to what Robert's actual date of birth was. WWI draft card states July 19, 1876. Irish record indicates 1875. Headstone shows 1876. Like 2 other of his sibilings - needs further research.

There is a Dawson County Marriage record for a Robert Ralston who married a Hanna M. Grace. (Vol 3 page 594 original located at the Dawson County Courthouse in Lexington, Nebraska). It is possible "Grace, Hanna M." might be a transcription or original recording error and that her name may have been "Grace M. Hanna". Robert's wife appears in US Census records and on his WWI Draft Registration Card and Grace M. Ralston. The surname "Hanna" appears numerous times throughout various Dawson County, Nebraska records.
