Born in Batesburg, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Preston Ramsay and Lottie Eva Prater Ramsay and was married to the late Frank Lander Smith Sr. She was a homemaker, a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Blackville where she was a Sunday School teacher and served on numerous committees. She was always very supportive of her children and grandchildren in all their activities and was a friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by a son Thomas R. “Tommy” Smith and a daughter-in-law Amelia H. Smith; sisters Mellie Rae Coker, Vanira Ester Lou Johnson, Vivanee Clovetos Ayer; brothers Vernon Odell , Robert Tarrell and Thomas Rhett Ramsay.

Graveside funeral services for Lottie Genell Ramsay Smith, 96, of Blackville, SC will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road, with Dr. Thomas Terry and Reverend Ken Frederick officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday May 29, 2018 at Folk Funeral Home in Williston. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Blackville P.O. Box 217 Blackville, S.C. 29817 or to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Dale Padgett of Pruitt Health Care and Pruitt Hospice for their love and care during her illness; she passed away Saturday May 26, 2018 at her home.
