Biography

Farm Labourer 1851 Holme on Spalding Moor

Enoch Raper with his wife Ann and four children are living in his native village of Holme. We know that his son the first Thomas Raper died young: we wonder from the absence of John b 1838 and Charles b 1846 whether this was their fate also: but they are alive: Charles is with his maternal grandparents, the Buttles, while John as an apprentice shoemaker is with his Master. ^[1]
