Biography

John Ratrie was born on September 13, 1917 in Garrett, Dekalb, Indiana. His parents were Wolford Ratrie and Cleo Jameson. In his enlistment records, he was listed as a locomotive fireman, stoking coal for a steam locomotive. Later in life he was a supervisor of locomotives. John was a 1st Sergeant with the US Army in WWII. He married Georgia Krisher on January 23, 1943. He died on May 26, 1993 in Pasco, Florida, United States.
