He is first noticed in Ferguson's work[1] in the Marriage Register of the Scots Brigade when he appears in a contract of marriage, 27 April 1734 at Bosch, likely the small hamlet, 's-Hertogenbosch, in North Brabant and close by the Unit lines at Venlo, between himself, stated to be a soldier of Colonel Lamy's Regiment, and Henderina Ambrosiaus.
