Biography

Roll of Honor
Sir John Rattray was killed in Action during the War of the League of Cambrai at the Battle of Flodden Field.
John Rattray is a member of Clan Rattray.

John was the son of Sir John Rattray, 11th of Rattray and Elizabeth Kennedy.[1]

A contract for the marriage of John Rattray of Rattray, younger and Margaret Abercrombie was signed on 15 January 1507.[1] They had issue;

  1. Grizel. m. John Stewart,[2][3] d. a 1537
  2. Elizabeth[3]

John was killed in action at the Battle of Flodden on 9 Sep 1513.

Research Notes

It is thought by some that John died in tje wars in Holland but a grant to heirs of those killed at Flodden to his two daughters indicates otherwise.[1]
