John Michael Ream was born 13 August 1770 in Reamstown, Pennsylvania. He was baptized on 28 August 1770 at Muddy Creek, Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His parents were Captain Andrew Riehm and Susanna Fiesser.
John Michael served as a private in Captain George Honey's Company, City Guards of Philadelphia.
John Michael Ream married Catherine Glessner on 27 November 1792 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. They had the following children:
