Birth

Mary Elmira Reed was born on 3 June 1845 in Wayne City, Wayne, Illinois, United States to Thomas Jefferson Reed (1824-1881) and Martha Ann Baird (1825-1859).

Marriage and Family

She married Amos M. Renfro about 1861. Their first child was born in January 1863 and he was still single in 1860.[1]

Children of the Renfro-Reed Marriage

  1. Martha Renfro was born on 29 August 1861 in Wayne County, Illinois, United States. She died in 1878 in Ellis County, Texas, United States.
  2. Phebia Ann Renfro, known as Annie, was born on 11 January 1863 in Wayne County, Illinois, United States. She married Everett Madison Elliott (1860-1921) on 29 February 1880 in Kaufman County, Texas. Annie died on 27 November 1899 in Jack County, Texas, United States.
  3. Eliza Jane Renfro was born on 1 November 1869 in Illinois, United States. She married Isham Thomas Wright (1863-1911) on 6 December 1883 in Kaufman County, Texas. Eliza died on 21 December 1945 in Bridgeport, Wise, Texas, United States.
  4. Augusta Mae Renfro was born on 8 November 1871 in Ellis County, Texas, United States. She married 1) William Nathan Turnbow (1866-1892) on 8 October 1889 in Wise County, Texas and 2) William Terry Brock (1853-1908) on 19 November 1893 in Wise County, Texas. Augusta died on 9 February 1962 in the McKnight States Tuberculosis Hospital and Sanatorium in San Angelo, Tom Green, Texas, United States. She had been there for 1 year, 9 months and 7 days.
  5. Amanda Renfro was born and died on 2 January 1875 in Ellis County, Texas, United States.

Death

Mary died c. 1875, probably with the birth and death of her last child on 2 January 1875 in Ellis County, Texas, United States at the age of 30.
