Did any of this Reed family ever come to Grant County, Wisconsin that you know of? We have a Benjamin Reed that was born in Hardy County, Virginia (WV) and married Elizabeth Betsey Reel 23 Dec 1819 in Hardy Co, WV
Benjamin Reed's parents were Anthony Reed born ca 1753 and died 1819 in Hardy Co, WV and mother was Mary, Marcy Lusis, Lusig, or Lewis. Mary born ca 1775 and died after 1819 as she was in Anthony's will of Hardy Co, WV. I can not find when or where Mary died, can not find a burial place for Anthony, but his five children: Benjamin md Elizabeth Reel, Deborah md Jeremiah Shinoe, Anthony (my lineage) md Nancy Reel, Dorothy (Dolly) md Cuthbert Milligan, Martha (Patsy) md James Cooper Cresap. After Anthony's death in 1819, the children all eventually sold their share of the father's property and all moved to Coschocton Ohio area and Anthony and Benjamin and Deborah all moved to Grant Co. Wisconsin and died in this area. Any help with this family would be so much appreciated. It is told Anthony Sr should be a brother to Joseph Reed of Pennsylvania and New Jersey who served for George Washington and was a well known lawyer in those areas and his father being Andrew Reed but we can find no proof from Joseph and Andrew's side of family tree to connect into our line. Our Anthony was no lawyer for sure, was of a poor family standing and thus his children were all hard working, mostly farming people that moved to Ohio and Wisconsin. Would appreciate any leads or tidbits for sure. Thank you so much, Linda Reed, [email address removed]
