Sylvia was born January 7, 1904 in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States. Her parents were Gustav Reich and Molly (Langer) Reich, both Austrian immigrants.[1]
In 1910 Sylvia (shown as Silvia, age 6) lived at 872 Lorimer Street in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States with her father Gustav (age 33), mother Molly (age 30), and sisters Bertha (age 10) and Helen (age 2). Her father was a bartender.[2]
In 1915, Sylvia (shown as Silvia, age 11) lived at 872 Lorimer Street in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States with her father Gustav (shown as Gustave, age 38), mother Molly (shown as Mollie, age 36), and sisters Bertha (age 15) and Helen (age 7).[3]
In 1925, the family's last name was incorrectly shown as Reech. Sylvia (age 21) lived in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States with her mother Molly (shown as Mollie, age 43) and sister Helen (age 16).[4]
Sylvia married Benjamin Deitel November 19, 1928 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States[5]
and they had one child (see Research Notes).
Sylvia and Benjamin traveled abroad. They left Le Havre, France February 26, 1930 aboard the Ile De France. After their arrival in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States March 4, 1930, they returned to their home at 69 Bay 29th Street in the Bensonhurst area of Brooklyn[6]
In 1930, Benjamin (age 31) and Sylvia (age 26) lived in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States. Benjamin was manager of a cane factory.[7]
Benjamin, Sylvia, and Barbara returned from a trip, departing July 22, 1932 aboard the SS Franconia. Following their arrival July 31, 1932 in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States, they returned to their home at 20 West 20th Street in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States.[8]
In 1940 Benjamin (age 39) and Sylvia (age 35) lived at 50 19th Street in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States with daughter Barbara (age 9). Benjamin was temporarily retired.[9]
Sylvia was a resident of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States when she died August 22, 1988.[10]
She was buried August 24, 1988 in the Mount Judah Cemetery in Ridgewood, Queens, New York, United States.[11]
