Biography
Esther werd geboren in Amsterdam in 1916. Ze was een dochter van Barend Reiss en Hanna Marie Root[1].
Ze was naaister van beroep. In de zomer van 1942 kwam ze, met haar zusje Kitty, in Westerbork. Waarschijnlijk kwamen ze af op de belofte van werk. In het kamp trouwde Esther met Jacob Glasbeek[2].
Een paar dagen na het huwelijk zijn Esther, Jacob en Kitty op transport gezet naar Auschwitz, waar ze alledrie dwangarbeiders aan het werk zijn gezet. Hun precieze overlijdensdata zijn niet bekend; de gemeente Amsterdam heeft later om 30 september 1942 als datum opgegeven[3][4].
