Biography

Thomas was born about 1830 in Westray, Orkney. He married Margaret McKay on 25 October 1851 at Papa Westray, Orkney. ^[1]

In 1871, he was aged 41 and was a farmer of 15 acres at 'Gayfield', Papa Westray. His wife Margaret, aged 40, and children William 18, John 14, Margaret, 10, Tomima R aged 8, Christina 5 and Mary 3 were in the household. ^[2]

In 1881, he was 50. Children Isabella, Margaret, Tomima, Christina, Mary G A and George were living with Thomas and his wife. ^[3]

Thomas died aged 71 at Papa Westray. ^[4]
