Obituary: Hannibal Courier-Post (MO) - Tuesday, August 4, 2009 Deceased Name: Aleeta Mae Riney Funeral services for Aleeta Mae Riney, 91, of Hannibal, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at the First Christian Church in Hannibal. The Rev. Steve Barker will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park. Mrs. Riney died on Aug. 2, 2009, at her home in Hannibal. She was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Weaubleau, Mo., to Dr. Horace P. and LaZora Reser. She was married to Leo W. Riney in April, 1941, in Weaubleau, Mo. He died Dec. 12, 1976. Survivors include two sons, Charles W. Riney and Robert E. Riney of Hannibal; a daughter, Jane A. Willmann of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandsons, David W. Riney, Dwight W. Riney, John R. Riney, Mark P. Riney, Matthew D. Riney and Brendan N. Willmann; two granddaughters, Anne E. Riney, and Amanda J. Willmann; five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; and her sister, Marilyn Juhas of So. Pasadena, Calif. Mrs. Riney served as the president of the Missouri Federation of Music Clubs in 1975. She served on the Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony (IPFAC) Governing Board for many years. She was the IPFAC Missouri Trustee, and in 2007 was honored with an Honorary IPFAC Board membership. She established The Aleeta Mae Riney Rotating Award for Missouri University Students and an IPFAC Scholarship for young artists each summer. Her music study began as a small child. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State College with a major in art and music. Her first job was as a Rural Fine Arts Supervisor in Monroe County for two years. Mrs. Riney was active in several organizations including a charter member of Evening Etude, Chapter JH P.E.O., Women's Club and two bridge clubs. She was a long-time member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and had served on the Y.M.C.A. Board. Mrs. Riney was a member of First Christian Church in Hannibal. She was a 50-year member of the church choir. PEO services will be at 5:45 p.m. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, at Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be made to IPFAC Aleeta Mae Riney Scholarship Fund in care of Smith Funeral Home.
