Biography

Ann RETTIE was born Abt 1800 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She was the fourth child of Alexander RETTIE (Abt 1747) and Christian ANDERSON. She had three brothers: James RETTIE (1 Mar 1785), Adam RETTIE (Abt 1791), William RETTIE (Abt 1792).

On 3 Nov 1821, she married John BRUCE in Monquhitter, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She was 21 years old when she married John BRUCE. She had one daughter with John BRUCE: Christian BRUCE.

On 28 Nov 1875, she died in New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland when she was 75 years old. She was described as the 'Pauper Widow of John Bruce, General Labourer in New Pitsligo'. Her husband John BRUCE had died on 17 May 1864, 12 years before her. She was buried in New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
