Biography

Helen RETTIE was born in Strichen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1826. She was christened on 31 Aug 1826 in Strichen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.[1]

On 14 Jun 1849, she married James MITCHELL in New Deer, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.[2] William RETTIE (her father?) was the witness.

Helen's daughter, Helen (Bunkhouse) and her brother, William, moved to USA. The RETTIE history in the Burnt River library in 1986 was chiefly contributed by them.[3]

On 5 Aug 1900, Helen RETTIE died in New Aberdour, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. [4] She was a widow at this time, her husband James MITCHELL having pre-deceased her.
