James Reynolds was born at Northrepps, Norfolk, England on 1st February 1826, [1] & baptised there on 7th February 1826, [2] the son of John & Elizabeth Reynolds.
James Reynolds, of age, Bachelor, Carrier, of Overstrand, (son of John Reynolds, Carrier) married Christiana Olly, age 20, Single woman, of Overstrand, (dau of Francis Olly, Labourer) on 2nd November 1849 in the Parish Church of Overstrand, Norfolk according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England, by Paul Johnson, Rector. James & Christiana both made their Mark. Witnesses were Lawrence Reynolds & Mary Ann Olley. [3][4]
Following the death of his wife Christiana in 1851, James Reynolds, age 29, Widower, Fish Dealer, of Overstrand, (son of John Reynolds, Fish Dealer) married Clara Wegg, age 25, Spinster, Servant, of Mundesley, (dau of Mark Wegg, Shoe Maker) on 20th December 1854 in the Parish Church of Mundesley, Norfolk according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church of England, by George H. F. Pocoke, Curate. James made his mark & Clara signed her name. Witnesses were Mary Reynolds & James Carter. [5][6]
James Reynolds of Sheringham, Norfolk, Farmer and Fish Merchant, died on 11th November 1894. [7][8] Probate of his estate was granted at London on 3rd January 1895 to Clara Reynolds, widow. Effects £853 18s. 11d. James was buried at Sheringham, Norfolk on 16th November 1894. [9]
