John Rhodes was born on December 24, 1809 in Wheldrake, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom[1] [2].
John married Jane Montieth Flint (born on January 18, 1816 in Farlington, Yorkshire)[1]. Their children were:

The Rhodes family arrived at Fremantle, from Yorkshire, on February 24th, 1852 on the ship Will Watch with a family of thirteen[4].
He was a stonemason in UK and came with the settlers of the Colonial Assurance Co. scheme for Greenough-Irwin River district, which collapsed with the death of its chief promoter. This man (?listed as G. Rhodes). Employed a T/L tutor at "Woodbridge; Guildford in 1852 & a T/L servant in 1853. He went farming at Greenough and employed a T/L man 1866.[1]
John died on April 24, 1880 in Greenough, Colony of Western Australia, aged 70.[5][1]
- On the 24th ult., at the Greenough Flats, before E. H. Laurence, E.M. and Coroner, ou the body of John Rhodes, who was found dead in his bed the morning of the 24th ult. Verdict—"Death from heart disease." [6]
