Traveled with the Easton Kelsey Company in 1851 with his first wife Barbara departing from the outfitting post at Kanesville, Iowa (present day Council Bluffs). They originally departed about June 10, but turned back due to Indian trouble. They left again June 29. The company arrived in Salt Lake City between September 22 and October 7, 1851.[1]
Married 3 times with 2 plural wives. He was arrested for unlawful cohabitation. His wives were:
21 Jan 1853, Territory Legislature gives Alonzo Rhodes, Charles Hopkins, Ezekiel Hopkins permission to build the bridge over the Jordan River
1854, built a home on the south side of the Old Lehi Fort
He was one of the three fiddlers who led the first parade of Lehi on the 24th of July 1854. That evening the string trio played in the Log Schoolhouse for a dance including the cotillion, jig, and quadrille.
Lehi City Marshal from 1854-1858 and again from 1869-1871.
Member of the Lehi Militia group who fought in the Tintic War in 1856. [2] He also participated in a rescue company in November 1856 assisting the members of the Church stranded in Wyoming.
He passed away in 1893 and is buried in Lehi City Cemetery, Lehi, Utah. [3][4][5]
