Biography

David Rhodes was born about 1836 in Pennsylvania.

Was married in 1862 to Annie Brown. They had Eight known children, all born in Freedom, Adams, Pennsylvania:

On 3 June 1863, David Rhodes age 25, enrolled into the war while living in Freedom, Pennsylvania. He was married and was working as a miller. He was born in Adams Co. Penn.^[1][2]

The 1870 Census listed David Rhodes age 35, as living in Freedom, Adams, Pennsylvania with his father David, age 70, his wife Ann age 22, there four children John age 4, Joshua age 3, Lewis age 2 and Ellen age 5 months. Also in the home were John Rhodes age 23 and Mary Rider age 25 David was working as a Miller.His father was a successful Farmer, with real estate valued at $31,000 and personal property valued at $1,746 dollars.^[3]

The 1880 Census listed David Rhodes as living in Freedom, Adams, Pennsylvania with his wife Annie age 37 and there seven children John age 16, Joshua age 14, Lewis age 12, Belle age 10, Kate age 7, Walter C. age 5 and Edgar N. age 2.^[4]

The 1900 census listed Dick Rhodes age 67 as living in Freedom, Adams, Pennsylvania. Whare he was a farmer on a farm that he owned in full. Was living with his wife Annie and six of there children John S age 36, Jacob S age 32, R Bille age 30, Cathrine S age 27, Walter K age 24 and Edgar N age 22.^[5]

The 1910 census listed David Rhodes age 73 as living in Freedom, Adams, Pennsylvania on the corner of Gettysburg And Emmetsburg. Whare he was a farmer on a general farm whare he was an employer. On a farm that he owned in full. He was living with his wife of 48 years Anna age 67, four of there children John age 46, Lewis age 42, Belle age 40 and Catherine age 37. There was one employed farm laborer Maurice Black age 20.^[6]

David died in 1919 and was buried in the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. That is located in Emmitsburg, Frederick County (Frederick), Maryland.^[7]

7. Walter Kremer Rhodes b.2 Oct 1874 in Adams County, Pennsylvania and died 12 Dec 1945 in Lewisburg, Union, Pennsylvania. Married to Nora G Noll. COD:Cerebral Apoplexy.^[11][4]
