Lee Alice Richardson was born about 1863 in Washington Co., Kentucky.[1] She married three times. Her first husband was Joshua Bird, a farm laborer. The marriage was held in 1878[2] at the house of her grandmother, Juliet Hatchett. Her father Thomas Richardson was deceased by that time. Berry Hatchett executed the marriage bond. The couple lived in Nelson Co., Kentucky after the marriage.[3]
Joshua is believed to have died in 1895.[7] In 1898 she married Valentine Mudd,[8] a wealthy widow in Bullitt Co., Kentucky. By 1900 the entire family was living in Shepherdsville.[9]
Valentine is believed to have died around 1909, at which point Lee Alice moved to Louisville.[10] She remained a widow until sometime after 1920, when she married her sister's widower, James Bishop.[11] The couple remained in Louisville until her death in 1932.[12]
