We learn from the will of his brother Silas, or rather from the probate of it, 18 Apr 1775, that he was then absent; but he perhaps afterwards returned, for the records represent that he died, intestate, previous to 12 Jan 1785. At that date the probate court appointed a committee to appraise his estate. They returned an inventory 14 Jan1785. [Hillsboro' Prob. Rec, i. 400.] No wife or children are mentioned.

All the above supposed to be living 25 Mar 1766, at the settlement of the father's estate.
