Reverend Lorenzo Sibert ("L.S.") Richey, Junior, was born in Birmingham Alabama in 1914. He passed away in 1997 at the age of 82 and is interred at Miller Chapel Methodist Cemetery, DeKalb County, Alabama.[1]
In 1950, L. S. was living in Hollly Pond, Alabama with wife Clovis and four children. Information from the 1950 census report:
L. S. Richey married Clovice Edmondson in 1935 and spent several years as a farmer at several locations on Sand Mountain before entering the ministry. He and his family left Sand Mountain and entered into full-time ministry in the fall of 1945. He remained active as a full-time minister in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church for a period of over 40 years, and as a lay minister for 13 additional years. During the full-time ministry period, he accepted 35 separate assignments from the Conference, administering to over 80 churches. Most of the churches were located in small towns, or the rural area of Northeast Alabama. He and Clovice had four children who lived to adulthood and one child (Charlie Mark) who died at birth. After retirement, he and his wife returned to live out their life on a small farm located near Miller's Chapel Methodist Church on Sand Mountain.
