Emily was born in 1842. She passed away in 1928.
- Manning, Nov. 24.-Dr.J.E. Arant
of Manning has returned from Elloree after attending the funeral services of his mother, Mrs. E.C. Arant, who died in Orangeburg Friday. Mrs. Arant leaves six children, Dr. J.E. Arant of Manning, Mrs. W.F. O'Cain of Orangeburg, Mrs. J.D. Strock of Elloree, the Rev. M.G. Arant of Hemingway, Mrs. F. A. Inabinet of Orangeburg, M.B. Arant of Elloree; besides, 26 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. Her husband died several years ago.
