Biography
Benjamin was born in 1736. He was the son of Matthias Riegel and Maria Margaretha. He passed away in 1778. Benjamin born 1738, Bucks County, PA. He was a Private in 1st Battalion, Northampton County Militia.
Burial: Lower Saucon Creek and Old Mennonite School House, Hellertown, Northhampton, Penn. USA. (Limekiln Cemetery).
Catherine (1st wife died 1771) Catherine and Benjamin had 5 children. 1. Matthias, born March 27, 1763 2. Anna Margaretha, born Aug. 15, 1764 3. John, born Feb. 4, 1765 4. Jacob, born Nov. 11, 1768 Catherine, born Sept. 18, 1770
Benjamin's 2nd wife, Barbere Maria Hass Weber, had 7 children before she married Benjamin, Benjamin and Barbar had 2 children, Elizabeth, born May 16, 1773, Northampton County, PA. died June 18, 1849 and Benjamin, born Dec. 15, 1777 Northampton, dies July 22, 1848 in Ringelsville, PA.
Benjamin was Private , 7th. Class, 4th. Company, 1st Battalion of Northampton County Militia. Apparently he was a teamster or a wagoner.
After returning home from the war, Benjamin accidently fell from his wagon and was run over. He died from his injuries a few hours later.
