Frederick Riggall was born on 9 Jan 1914 at Georgetown, Madison County, New York, USA.[1] He appeared on the census of 6 Jan. 1920 in the household of his parents, Fred and Emma Riggall, at Madison, Madison County, New York.[2] He appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 in the household of his parents, at Lebanon Rd., Lebanon, Madison County, New York.[3] He began military service in the US Army on 7 Jan. 1941 at Sussex, New Jersey.[4] He fought in Tunisia and Sicily and went into France on D-Day. He was injured on Aug. 21, 1944 and awarded a Purple Heart. He returned to duty in Oct. 1944.[1]
Pfc. Frederick Riggall was killed in action in Germany on March 29, 1945.[1] He was buried at Category: Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Netherlands, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.[5] His memorial has a photo of the cross marking his grave.[6]
Frederick also has a memorial at Hillside Cemetery, Georgetown, Madison County, New York. The stone reads:
