Biography

Marie Anna Albina Riopel (called Albina) was born on February 29, 1881. Her father, Joseph, was 22, and her mother, Eugenie, was 29.

This photo taken after Joseph Dolphis Riopelle's funeral is the only known photo of Albina. She was born Riopelle, but at that point had married John McKeegan.

Albina married John McKeegan on November 27, 1900 in Polk Country, Minnesota.[1] Family notes from interviews indicate: "moved to Idaho & never heard from her again" and in another set of notes "went to N.W. so family lost contact."

In the 1910 Federal Census she was married to and living with John McKeegan in Mountain Home, Elmore, Idaho, USA. They had two children: a daughter named Beatrice Mckeegan born about 1905 and a son named John Mckeegan Jr born about 1907.[2]

In the 1920 census we find her separated from her family for medical reasons and living in Blackfoot, Bingham County, Idaho.[3]

In 1935 her husband, John McKeegan (1866–1935) died at 69 years.[4]

Albina McKeegan died 30 Jul 1949 (aged 69) at Blackfoot, Bingham, Idaho, United States.[5] Albina Riopelle McKeegan's memorial stone indicates a birth on 29 Feb 1880 in Canada. She lies buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home, Elmore County, Idaho, USA.[6]
