The birhdate date entered is one of of 5 James Mellis baptised in Cairnie between 1755 and 1769. Nothing found for death date

There are 7 children born between james and Margaret - three of these are noted as Margaret Richardson and the 4 with Margaret Ritchie They are not in order (as a first wife) so could be the same person but care is needed

The baptism records have been seen for all the baptisms and the same hamlet , ( except for Jean the eldest (birth at home with her mother??) with different spellings is used. I will add the witness names to the children to

Removed her as the daughter of John Ritchie and Jane (Caldwell) Ritchie - assume this was the Margaret Ritchie with US family.

I made Margaret three years young with birth date of 1765? Unlikely but not impossible to be 16 at marriage if around 1786
