Archibald Robbie was born on August 24, 1802, to Francis Robbie, a soldier, and Isabelle Simpson Robbie, in Dillachaan, Finzean, Birse, Aberdeen, Scotland. [1] Archibald was the eldest of 3 known children born to Francis and Isabelle:
Archibald's mother was his father's 3rd wife. Thus, Archibald had 6 known half-siblings on his father's side.
He had 2 half-siblings from Francis' first marriage, with Mary Small:

Marriage and Children
Archibald became a farmer and at age 27 married Mary George, age 20, on March 29, 1829, at Inchloan, Durris, kincardineshire, Scotland. [5] Together they had 11 children, all except Ann were born in Kincardine, Scotland:
Ann Robbie (b. 1825; m. 1849, Alexander Coutts; d. 1915) [6]
Isabella Robbie (b. 1829)
Mary Robbie (b. 1831)
Francis Robbie (b. 1832; d. 1833) died as infant [7]
In 1832, when Archibald was age 30, his mother Isabelle died.
On May 11, 1839, when Archibald was 37, his father, Francis died. [12]
Sometime between 1848 and 1861, Archibald and Mary immigrated to Canada.
In 1861, "Arch Robbie, age 59 and Mary Robbie, age 52", lived with their daughter Amelia, age 16; and grandsons Arch Calder, age 14 and George Shand, age 11. They lived in a 1-story log house in Egremont, Grey, Canada West, where Archibald was a farmer. [13]
Death and Burial
Archibald passed away on March 4, 1869 (age 65–66). He is buried at Holstein Cemetery Holstein, Grey County, Ontario, Canada. [14]
Archibald 's wife, Mary George, passed away in 1882, age 73, and is also buried at the Holstein Cemetary. [15]
