Biography

Also in Simpson D. Butler letter to Cora Pease: "It is recorded in Eatons History of Thomaston and Rockland that on 2 April 1852 Mrs. Melia Butler wife of Phinehas Butler died at Rockland aged 88 years having lived affectionately with her husband 71 years, leaving beside her aged husband of 94 years, 7 living children, 40 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren and 3 great great grand children. She had been an exemplary member of the Baptist Church for 68 years.
