Josephine M Robeen was born on February 26, 1908 in Calhoun, Illinois, United States.

In 1910, Josephine (2) was living in household of John Robeen (48) in Point Precinct, Calhoun with her parents, John (48) and Mary (43); her siblings, Andrew (22), Gertrude (13), Treacy (11), and Frank (8); and Treacy Retger (76), William Retger (38), and Leo Retger (7). ^{[1] [2]}

In 1920, Josephine (12) was living in household of John Roben (58) in Point Precinct, Calhoun with her parents, John (58) and Mary (53); and her siblings, Gertrude (24), Theresa (20), and Frank (18). ^[3]

Josephine (16) married Leo J Fortschneider (21) (born on June 10, 1903 in Calhoun; son of Stephan Fortschneider Sr and Amelia (Lind) Fortschneider) on February 9, 1925 in Calhoun County, IL.

In 1930, Josephine (22) was living in household of Leo Fortschneider (26) in Point Precinct, Calhoun with her husband, Leo (26); and their daughter, Darleen (3). ^[4]
