Biography

Marie Anne Robert was born 2 January 1789, the daughter of Jean Amable Robert and Agathe Dugué. She was baptized the next day at Saint Joseph de Chambly, Province de Québec, godparents Jean Baptiste Robert and Marie Anne Frechet.^[1][2]

She married Jean Baptiste Lemaire 1 August 1808, Chambly (St-Joseph), Bas-Canada. The parish register states that the marriage was between "Jean Bte Lemarie, fils mineur de Jean Bte Lemaire, Cabaretier, en cette paroisse, et de Magdeleine d'arche, d'une part: et Marie Anne Robert fille mineure d'Amable Robert, cultivateur, et de Marie Agathe Dugué, aussi de cette paroisse, d'autre part. . . . En Présence de dit Jean Bte Lemaire père et Barthelemi Lemaire frère de l'époux: du dit Amable Robert père et Joseph Robert oncle paternel de l'épouse, et de plusieurs autres parens et amis. . ." Marie Anne was born 2 Jan 1789 to Jean Amable Robert dit Lafontaine and Marie Agathe Duguay. She was baptized the following day in Chambly.
