Biography

James Robertson was born abt. 1811, the son of Thomas Robertson and Susannah Jenkins of Mt. Albion, Lot 48, Prince Edward Island[1] [2] [3]

About 1841, he married Marry Murray, the daughter of John Murray and Honoria Hierlihy of Tabusintac, New Brunswick. They settled in Birch HIll, Lot 49, Prince Edward Island, and their children included:

  1. Elizabeth, born about 1842, who died before 1869[1]
  2. George, born about 1844[1]
  3. James, born July 17, 1853[4], who married Caroline Jenkins, the daughter of Thomas Jenkins and Sarah Jane Gray[5] [6]. [1]
  4. Ann Murray, born August 5, 1855, and baptised on October 14[7] [1], who married Levertt John Bishop of Massachusetts[8] [9]
  5. William A, born May 1856, who married Christine Ann Jenkins[1]
  6. Mary Murray, born August 11, 1857, and baptized October 4[10] [1]

Mary Murray died in 1857[11] [1]

On September 26, 1862, James married Mary Jenkins, the daughter of George Jenkins and Margaret Acorn[1]. These sources do not note any more children.

James Robertson of Birch Hill died in 1895[12] [1]

His second wife, Mary Jenkins Robertson died in 1898[13] [1]
