Biography
Born in Pennsylvania, moved to Virginia (what is now West Virginia), moved on to Indiana (daughter Rebecca was born in Kentucky on the way) and then to Missouri. He originally was a miner in Pennsylvania and Virginia then became a farmer when they arrived in Idiana. His widowed father lived with them and died in Indiana.
William Henry was tall with blonde hair and blue eyes - his father was Scots and his mother was German.
He served in the Civil War and was shot in the foot, which was not set properly and healed bent inwards - he was able to walk and function normally
