Biography

Susan Robinson was born about 1790.

George Wier, of Rawdon, and Susanah Robinson registered a marrage bond dated 1 Mar 1815 in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.

George and Susan went on to have the following children:
- Mary Ann Wier
- Harriett Moxon Wier
- Benjamin Wier
- Gilbert Lester Wiggins Wier (abt.1825-abt.1892)
- George William Wier

Susan died on 28 Aug 1852 at Rawdon,^[1] when she was about 62 years old. Susan's burial took place two days later, on 30 Aug 1852, with Rev. William Taylor officiating.

Notes

BIrth: Susan's birth year is calculated from the burial record, which notes that she was 63 when she died in 1852. The newspaper at the time said she was 62. She may have been born in Shelburne County, since that's where the marriage bond was filed.

Marriage: I've seen online somewhere that they were married on 2 Mar 1815 at St. Paul's Church in Halifax, but that still needs to be confirmed. They don't appear to have been married at St. Paul's Church, Rawdon; at any rate, I couldn't find them there.

Burial: Although Susan's burial is recorded in the St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rawdon, records, I haven't found a grave marker for her there. They might have been waiting for George to go, but he died at a very difficult time (Aug/Sep 1875 saw many deaths in the family due to a cholera outbreak). Also there is a transcription error in the record, which reads: "Mrs. Mason Wier wife of Geo. Wier"; the original records are not available online at this time, so they still need to be consulted.
