Henry was born in 1908. He is the son of Leonard Robjohns and Florence Stephens.

Henry married Dorothy Elizabeth Haslam in Adelaide in 1934. She died under Japanese occupation in Ash civilian internment camp, Shanghai China in 1944. Henry and his two young daughters returned to Australia in 1945.
In 1948, Henry married Mabel Humphris Cashmore in Adelaide. Mabel was a member South Australian and national hockey teams from 1925-37. They had a full life together working in Australia, Hong Kong and India. He returned to Australia to workHe was appointed medical superintendent of the Queen Elizabeth Home for the aged at Ballarat and later at Felixstowe in South Australia.
Mabel passed away in 1975, hours after Henry retired. He pursued an interest in gardening in retirement and was the founding president (1977-79) of the Friends of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
In 1988 he published his autobiography, "My Several Lives"
Henry passed away on 20 December 1990 at his Marryatville home, South Australia. The Collin Robjohns Gates at the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden were opened in 1996 in his honour.
