Robert Allen Rogers was a career U.S. Air Force non-commissioned officer who was well respected in his field of aircraft maintenance. He served in the Pacific in WWII. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and the War in Vietnam. His many military awards are very impressive. He served the last years of his career in the Strategic Air Command at Little Rock AFB, Thailand, and Barksdale AFB where he retired in 1981. He had a very successful career and retired at the highest enlisted grade, Chief Master Sergeant (E-9).
His maintenance skills were no doubt inherited from his father who was a pioneer automobile mechanic. Another thing he inherited was his love of hunting and fishing which he loved above all. He was most happy when he could spend his free time with a rod and reel or a hunting rifle in his hands. He put his hunting and fishing skills to good use and always had fresh meat or fish ready for cooking which he was also very good at.
