There are no known birth or death records for her. No family Bible has ever been referenced. No gravemarker appears to have survived. Her date of birth is taken from the 1850 Census for Madison County, Georgia. There is a discrepancy of 5 years in her age between the 1850 and 1860 Census, but the 1850 Census appears more reliable.
As an orphan of John Rogers, she participated in the 1805 Georgia Lottery.
When she inherited property under the will of her maternal grandfather George Turman of Elbert County, Georgia[1], the court appointed guardians for her: her mother Nancy and stepfather James Thurmond.[2][3]
Her marriage to Charles Dunston (abt.1785-aft.1860) was recorded in Jackson County, Georgia records.[4]
She was in her 30s and 40s in the 1830 and 1840 Census, respectively, for Madison County, Georgia in the household of her husband. She appears by name in the 1850 Census for Madison County, Georgia and 1860 Census for Randolph County, Alabama.
Because she is not found after this date, she probably passed away during the Civil War years in east Alabama.
