Joseph Dennison Rogers8, (Elisha7, Joseph6, Rolen Jr. 5, Rolen Sr. 4, John3, Joseph2, James1), b. 9 Oct. 1838 — Gaspereaux Mtn; d. 29 Aug. 1920. He owned a sawmill and a large amount of timber land. Operated a large farm at Windham Hill. He m. 1866 by Rev. Wm. Darragh (Presbyterian) to Janet Tate (or Tait) of Mount Pleasant Cumb. Co. b. 2 Dec. 1846 - d. 16 Jan. 1930. Joseph lived next to his brother Daniel, (the latter started a family cemetery between their two houses). Joseph Dennison Rogers and Janet had thirteen children:
i. Olivia Maria Rogers9 b. 15 Dec. 1866 - d. Jan. 1951. (Joseph8, Elisha7, Joseph6, Rolen Sr. 5, Rolen Jr. 4, John3, Joseph2, James1). Olivia m. 21 Feb. 1887 William Canning from West Brook Cumb. Co. They had eight children.
ii. Ursula Jane Rogers9, b. 10 Aug. 1868-d ,;m.27Nov. 1889. Frederick Smith of Rodney, N.S.; had three children
iii. Deborah Agusta Rogers9; b. 1 April 1870; d. 11 Sept. 1943; m. 25 Dec 1897 Ceorge Blenkhorn.
iv. Thomas St. Clair Rogers9 9, b. 23 Mar. 1872; d. 16 April 1957; resided Victoria Hamilton and Montana, U.S.A. Unm.
v. Christopher Randolph Rogers9 , b. 1 Feb. 1874; d. 19 Nov. 1930- m March 1909 Mary Alice Firth, b. 10 Feb. 1890.
vi. Clifford Walton Rogers99, b. 3 Aug. 1875; d. 29 Dec. 1928; Unm. He took over the lumber business for a while then went out west
vii. Margery Amelia Rogers9, b. 11 Nov. 1877; d. Nov. 1950; m. 29 Nov 1899 Thomas Michael Ryan, b. 11 Oct. 1867; d. Oct They lived at Millvale, N.S. for c. ten years, then moved to Windham Hill. Both are bur. in the Rogers Cemetery. They had three children
viii. Bruce Wallace Rogers9 , b. 23 Aug. 1879; d. 20 May 1944 in Hamilton, U.S.A
ix. Emmerson Napoleon Rogers9 , b. 27 Nov. 1881; d. 5 Nov. 1962; m. 5 March 1911 Rachel Firth of Victor, U.S.A. One child
X. Edwin Harris Thornton Rogers9 ,b. 8 June 1883; d. 195?;m. 21 Sept. 1910 Theo ? Herrett. One son
xi. Frank Wellington Rogers9 ,b. 27 April 1885;d. 26 April 1956;m. 17 June 1926 Ella May Cotton of Athol, N.S., b. Dec. 1906; d. 1970. Lived at Windham Hill for a few years, then went to Oshawa, Ont. They had three boys and adopted one girl. Frank and his three sons worked at General Motors Ltd.
xii. Rufus Wyley Rogers9 , b. 8 Aug. 1887; d. 1940's; m. Mildred Barbrich of Urbania, N.S., b. 30 Aug. 1887. No issue.
xiii. Effie Josephine Rogers , b. 1889; d. 1 May 1925; unm.
