Jonathan Rogers son of Jonathan was born in 1690 in New London, Connecticut. He married Judith on Nov. 24, 1711.
Judith's maiden name may have been Potter or Maxson. Rogers thinks Potter but did not provide a source.
Jonathan Rogers was known as “ Captain Jonathan,” but why he received the title has not been shown. He was the only son, and bought all the rights of his five sisters in the homestead property. He lived in Westerly, Rhode Island, but it is not known that any of his children were born there; their births are all recorded in New London.
On July 12, 1731 records at South Kingstown report that, Jonathan Rogers was to be cited to appear at the next town council or forthwith to depart out of the town. A reason for of why the warning was not given.
Jonathan died in 1777, Judith died soon afterwards, before his will was proved.
